About Digital Printing

This kind of printing is by far the highest and most widely used printing method in the world today. It actually accounts for well over 9% of the pages printed every year. The pages printed each year are around 45 trillion.

There are many areas in life today that require printing. These places include engineering environment, the office or even home. The printing in these cases can be dived into two categories. The first is the small format that is highly used in the libraries as well as business offices. The paper sheet size is usually like a ledger. The wide format, which is the second category, can be applied in design establishments as well as drafting. These are 3′ or even 914mm rolls of paper in width.

When we talk of digital printing, there are a lot of technologies that can be applied for the achievement of high quality productions. The blue print method uses some chemical technologies for achievement of printing goals. The daisy wheel uses pre-formed characters. The characters are applied in an individual manner. Dot matrix produces patterns that are dotted in an arbitrary manner. There is a printing studs array in this case.

When characters need to be effected on paper lines, line printing is the most appropriate method. Heat transfer method was used in the earlier forms of fax machines but is still in application to date. The more modern use of the method is on receipt printers. Heat is applied on the paper which in turn becomes black leaving an image.

Inkjet is yet another technology. It includes a bubble jet in which case the paper is sprayed with ink to create an image that’s desired. Electrography uses a toner, a charged image is used to attract the toner before it’s developed. Laser is a xerography type which involves an image that is charged being written pixel. A pixel laser is used. Solid ink printer involves ink cubes being melted so as to make a toner or make ink.

Running costs as well as total costs of the printing equipment is usually stressed by the vendors of the same. The calculations are based on all factors including amortization, and costs of equipments. Toner systems have been known to be highly economical as compared to inkjet. They will prove worth your while in the long run. Inkjets costs are less restrictive initially as compared to toner systems.

When using digital printing professionally, an electrical charge is used for the transfer of liquid ink or toner to the printing substrate. The quality of the digitally printed material is very high and has evolved drastically over the years.
